The 2001 Wolf Pack Finish First at the JWK Tournament

The '2001 CT Wolf Pack headed up to the JWK Tournament on Friday 1/18.  First up was the Boston Jr. Rangers who were dealt a 3-2 loss.  Next up was the RI Hitmen, with the WP getting another win with a 3-2 score.  Saturday the WP played Ashburn Xtreme, a viable contender from Virginia.  The Pee Wees played tough but came up short, 3-1.  Sunday the WP battled the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes and came back from a 3-0 deficit to end the game in a 3 all tie.  The Mass Mustangs was the final opponent in the East bracket and the WP prevailed with a score of 5-1.

The Pee Wee’s record of 3-1-1 placed them second in their bracket and sent them into the playoff game against the first seed in the West bracket, Ashburn Xtreme.  The WP dominated from the moment the puck dropped, defeating Xtreme with a 4-0 shutout.  In the Championship game, the WP faced a familiar HNE opponent, the Neponset Valley River Rats who defeated the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes in their playoff game.  The Pack played strong as a team, finding the net and staying strong on D.  Final score: WP 4, RR 1.  The boys brought home the banner as the JWK AAA 01 Champs!

Coach, Scott Page - "Very proud of the 2001 Wolf Pack this past weekend in the JWK.  They played 7 tough games in a short span! The boys came together and showed what happens when we play as a team.  The win was well deserved and a great victory earned by all."
